New Places to Eat on the Wildwood Boardwalk Guide 2019 [Updated]
Every year seems to bring new and exciting food, drink and dessert establishments to the Wildwood boardwalk -- and 2019 is no exception!
We compiled this guide to showcase what's new and exciting in 2019 so you're 100% fully prepared to make the best decisions possible once you're on the 2-mile boardwalk -- After all, you only have so much room in your stomach and time in your schedule, right? With so many delicious boardwalk choices, it's important to be as strategic as possible.
So, without further ado, please enjoy our annual guide to new places to eat on the Wildwood boardwalk!
1. Pop's Caramel Corn and Creamery
Location: 3414 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Pop's Caramel Corn and Creamery opened Memorial Day Weekend at the former location of Harry's Corner in the heart of the Wildwood boardwalk.
In addition to serving bags and buckets of caramel corn, Pop's also serves buttered popcorn, "Pop's Nutty Crunch" (caramel corn with nuts), milkshakes, ice cream floats, waffles with ice cream, and unique ice cream creations (see the last photo, courtesy of Pop's Facebook page).
As the summer goes on, keep an eye on Pop's menu -- new varieties of popcorn and ice cream creations may appear!
2. Steak 'Em Up
Location: 1800 Boardwalk, North Wildwood
Steak ‘Em Up has arrived at 17th and the Boardwalk, located at the base of Montego Bay (at the former location of La Bella's Pizzeria and Bakery).
3. Shriver's Salt Water Taffy & Fudge
Location: 3400 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Shriver's Salt Water Taffy & Fudge, an Ocean City NJ staple, is now open for business on the Wildwood boardwalk at the former location of Jame's Salt Water Taffy.
The confectionery offers a variety of treats including dozens of candies, marmalades, apple butters, and of course, many flavors of salt water taffy and fudge!
Though Shriver's is of Ocean City origin, the large toy Tram Car at the entrance makes Shriver's feel right at home here in Wildwood.
4. Mr. Gyro
Location: 2802 Boardwalk, Wildwood
Mr. Gyro is now open at the former location of Steve's Grilled Cheese, between Poplar and Magnolia Avenues.
The new boardwalk gyro shop offers a few of the items you would expect, such as gyro platters, gyro over nachos, gyro on a stick, but also features Philly cheesesteaks, burgers and a variety of fried foods.
Don't forget dessert too! Zeppoles, waffles with toppings, funnel cake and milkshakes are also on the menu!
Delivery, including super late night delivery (we were told 4:00am!), is also available.
5. Frutta Mania
Location: East Cedar Avenue & The Boardwalk, Wildwood
Looking for a healthy option?
Located directly in the heart of the boardwalk across from Mariner's Pier, Frutta Mania has brought a number of healthy options to boardwalk.
The small stand offers Acai, Pitaya and Kale bowls with a variety of toppings such as granola, fresh fruit, honey, peanut butter, and coconut flakes.
Also on the menu: Smoothies, fresh juice and "choose your flavor" corn cups.
6. Famous Cookie Creamery
Location: 24th & The Boardwalk, North Wildwood
The Famous Cookie Creamery, featuring 4th Street Cookie Company and Bassetts Ice Cream, is now open (as of late June 2019) on the boardwalk at 24th Avenue in North Wildwood (between the Frog Bog and Dunkin Donuts)!
If you've been to Philadelphia's Reading Terminal Market, you might recognize this delectable pairing of dessert brands -- the Famous Cookie Creamery is, in fact, the same owners behind the Reading Terminal Market operation!
In addition the usual ice cream flavors such as Vanilla and Chocolate, the shop also offers a few fun Bassetts ice cream flavors including Salted Caramel Pretzel, Peanut Butter Swirl, Moose Tracks and Birthday Cake.
From 4th Street Cookie Company, the shop offers Chocolate Chip, M&M, Snicker Doodle, Sugar, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, White Chocolate Cranberry cookies and more!
Oh, and one other thing: Cookie ice cream sundaes and cookie ice cream sandwiches are on the menu! Truly the best of both worlds!

7. The Fudge Factory (2nd Location)
Location: Garfield Avenue & The Boardwalk, Wildwood
A second location of The Fudge Factory is now open on the Wildwood boardwalk at Garfield Avenue.
Of course, a variety of home made fudges are available along with plenty of other sweets such as chocolate covered pretzels, candy apples, macaroons, caramel popcorn and more. The shop also features a selection of Hershey ice creams and milkshakes.
The original Fudge Factory location remains open at Maple Avenue and the Boardwalk.
Fun fact: A third Fudge Factory is located in Sarasota, Florida.
8. The Mall Cafe
Location: Boardwalk Mall, Garfield Avenue & The Boardwalk, Wildwood
The Mall Cafe is now open at the Boardwalk Mall at the former location of Guma's Spicy Pies, and next door to Mallin's Fudge.
The new shop features a variety of boardwalk favorites including pizza, cheesesteaks, burgers, chicken fingers and wings, smoothies, fresh-squeezed lemonade and more.
The Mall Cafe is still awaiting their new sign, but they're easy to spot with their storefront directly facing the boardwalk.
9. Smartfruit
Location: Garfield Avenue & The Boardwalk, Wildwood
More healthy options are now available on the Wildwood boardwalk!
Smartfruit, located at Garfield Avenue and the Boardwalk, is serving a variety of real fruit smoothies and juices, include strawberry, watermelon, pineapple, banana, peach, berries, greens and more.
In addition, the new shop serves a variety of acai bowls, teas, ice creams and milkshakes.
The Brooklyn-based company also sells their juices packaged online via their website.
9. Mana Ice
Location: Glenwood Avenue & The Boardwalk, Wildwood
Mana Ice is now open on the boardwalk at Glenwood Avenue (at the former location of Rita's Water Ice).
The new shop serves up many flavors of made-to-order Shaved Ice including Pineapple, Passion Fruit, Peach, Tiger Blood, Cream Banana, Cream Orange, Pina Colada, Coconut, Red and Green Apple, Watermelon, and more.
Further, you can mix two or more flavors to create just the perfect combination / flavor that you're looking for.
To make your shaved ice extra special, you can add toppings such as gummy candies, fresh shredded coconut, or a "Snow Cap" (which is ablend of evaporated milk and simple syrup).
The shop also features a few sugar-free flavors, including grapefruit and cherry.
